Braided sweet Christmas bread - Vánočka

This is one of recipes I use, another recipe is with heavy cream so so delicious as well. Scroll down my page to fine it😉 But let’s begin…This dough is so soft and yummmi you will not believe!  This recipe for Czech Christmas bread or  vanocka  is similar to polish chalka , jewish challah , hungarian fonott kalacs, and other Eastern European sweet breads.  Traditionally, this loaf is made of 4, 3 , 2 braids of decreasing size placed one on top of the other, but a simple three-strand braid will work just fine. Vánočka  is a sweet buttery bread, baked in Czech Republic and Slovakia (in Slovak called  vianočka ) traditionally at Christmas time. Very special festive Christmas bread made from white flour, either in the form of a wedge or plaited shape was first mentioned around 1400 by Benedictine monk Jan of Holesov  in his work  Treatise on Christmas Eve .
