Image
This is one of recipes I use, another recipe is with heavy cream so so delicious as well. Scroll down my page to fine it😉 But let’s begin…This dough is so soft and yummmi you will not believe!  This recipe for Czech Christmas bread or  vanocka  is similar to polish chalka , jewish challah , hungarian fonott kalacs, and other Eastern European sweet breads.  Traditionally, this loaf is made of 4, 3 , 2 braids of decreasing size placed one on top of the other, but a simple three-strand braid will work just fine. Vánočka  is a sweet buttery bread, baked in Czech Republic and Slovakia (in Slovak called  vianočka ) traditionally at Christmas time. Very special festive Christmas bread made from white flour, either in the form of a wedge or plaited shape was first mentioned around 1400 by Benedictine monk Jan of Holesov  in his work  Treatise on Christmas Eve . According to his interpretation, this pastry symbolized Christ child wrapped in cloth. History from Wikipedia: Vánočka was further re

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln One year ago  I turned 42 on September 25th...365 days ago I had no idea what kind of adventure I was launching on and surfing through life wide-eyed and uncertain with lots of prayers and wishes for life change. And I decided take a big risk and fight for myself at any costs.  So I did become more arrogant, more pushing, more self assertive and saying more NO. Then I've woken up on many Octobers days and thought to myself, "What am I doing with my life?!  The year I spent as a 42 year old was the worst year.  The year I spent as a 42 year old was the best year. I did some pretty crazy/shi* things and I did some pretty amazing things.  One of the most amazing was a single decision I made one Friday afternoon in October on my way home from work.  The day I made that decision, everything changed. Everything!!! I knew this year 2019 will be the year about me an

New week and new challenges in this rainy days, at least here on Cape Cod. It's just like never ending at this moment, but I was thinking about posting for you some ideas how to cope with tiredness and lack of sun we're experiencing with all this ongoing corona-virus situation, lock downs in some states and social distancing. Our body runs as a engine and if we're missing the gas we might be tired, not energized at all, lazy eventually and sleepy as well and lately getting sick. Balanced food and vitamins intake is very important as we already know. Our body need sugars, proteins, minerals and vitamins very importantly to fight extreme tiredness. Below i put down some examples of what we shall give to our body to run the engine and daily dose of  activities without to feel extremely tired, sleepy or sick. I'm not doctor or any dietary advisor, so please just take out of this what,s resonate with you or add some of these ideas to your list. I'm thyroid patien

This weekend I'm not working and its quit challenging what to cook, what to eat during weekend  if you feed just you and only. Isn't it sometimes hard to figure out what to cook if you live alone?  I asked my mom and sister in law what they bake, but they all said "nothing" hmmmm  I looked at my cooking books which i still have sitting on the floor, because having hard time find book  shelving, and i got an brilliant idea! PALACINKY time :-)  I did make very delicious “palačinka” palatschinke - Crêpes with lemon sugar and cinnamon taste,  so so tiny and crunchy on the edge and so buttery ,my home smells like bakery now. Zatímco se každý zalika strachem a panikou nad virusem, já relaxuji a nechám svou chuť k jídlu hrát nejlepšího přítele😉 Velmi chutná sladká večeře „palačinka“ s citronovým cukrem a skorici a tak křupavým okrajem 🤤 a jak máslové  celé mé místo voní jako cukrárna. Nezapomeňte na šťastné bříško pak je vše dobré a zůstaňte pozitivní . Panikou a stra
